1. Summary

Resell Scanner lets users upload or capture images of items to receive AI-powered identification and estimated resale values. To operate the app, we process photos submitted by users and the resulting scan information. Some data may be stored locally on the user’s device, and some data may be processed by third-party infrastructure used to power the service.

2. Information We Collect

Depending on how the app is used, Resell Scanner may collect or process the following categories of information:

• Item photos: Images that users choose to upload or capture in the app for scanning.
• Scan results: Item names, estimated values, notes, categories, and related output generated from scans.
• Subscription status: Information necessary to determine whether a user has access to unlimited scans through an App Store subscription.
• Basic technical request data: Information needed to operate the backend service, such as request metadata and error details.
• Locally stored history: Scan history saved on the device so users can revisit prior results.

At this time, the app is not intended to require users to create an account to use core scanning features.

3. How We Use Information

We use information to:

• Process item scans and return AI-generated results.
• Estimate resale values and show item details inside the app.
• Track scan limits for free users and enable access for subscribed users.
• Store scan history locally on the device for user convenience.
• Diagnose service issues, improve reliability, and maintain the app.

4. Sharing and Service Providers

Resell Scanner uses third-party service providers to operate the app. These providers may process data on our behalf strictly to provide app functionality.

• Cloudflare: Used to host backend infrastructure and route scan requests.
• OpenAI: Used to analyze submitted images and generate item identification and valuation output.
• Apple: Used for in-app subscription purchases and subscription management through the App Store.

We do not sell user personal information. We do not share submitted scan data with unrelated third parties for advertising purposes based on the app features described here.

5. Payments and Subscriptions

Paid subscriptions are processed by Apple, not directly by Resell Scanner. We do not receive or store full payment card details. Subscription purchases, renewals, cancellations, and billing are handled through the user’s Apple account and App Store settings.

6. Data Storage and Retention

• On-device data: Scan history may be stored locally on the device using app storage.
• Submitted scan content: Photos and scan requests may pass through backend infrastructure to generate results.
• Retention: Data may be retained only as long as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, and improve the service, unless a longer retention period is required by law.

Users can clear locally stored scan history from inside the app settings. Clearing local history removes the data stored on the device, but it may not remove server-side logs or temporary processing records already created during service operation.

7. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your information, such as the right to request access, deletion, or correction. Users may also:

• Delete locally saved scan history in the app.
• Manage or cancel subscriptions through Apple subscription settings.
• Stop using the app at any time.

8. Children’s Privacy

Resell Scanner is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the app. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and address the issue.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information processed through the service. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this policy. Continued use of the app after changes become effective means the updated policy will apply.
